But I hardly think House of Cards wants their signature dish to be their fries. We all commented on how good the fries were. One of our guests ordered the half chicken and didn't eat much of it. I ordered mine medium rare and got it medium rare. For the main course, three of us order the filet. The mussels weren't great themselves: most of them tiny and stringy. The mussels were ruined by a heavy, over-oily chorizo and tomato ragu. The scallops were so salty I should have sent them back. We ordered the scallops and the mussels for appetizers. Secreted away in the basement of the Johnny Cash museum, House of Cards has the feeling of a trendy speakeasy. Oh, and to be fair here, service was quite good, wine by the glass had some reasonable choices and the magic was pretty amazing and entertaining. Sort of recommended, if you understand that the dinner pays for the magic and not a phenomenal (but pretty good) dining experience. Of course, if you skip the appetizer, you'll miss the only thing on the menu I tasted that was truly exceptional and worth the price - the scallop appetizer. The best value is to have en entree and a couple of drinks, skip the appetizers, special seasonings, dessert, salad (heck, you're probably eating late anyway) and enjoy the magic. We had a party of three with a $300 gift card - after six drinks, three meals, tax and tip the cost was about $500. These seem innocent, but add up fast on top of premium entree pricing (understandable and not complaining about the base prices since the entree gets you a ticket to the theater show). Why the + ? Well, two in our party were talked into some add-ons to their steaks - like truffle butter and special seasonings. The food is expensive, generally, for what you get and I'll call this one step below 'fine dining' at 'fine dining +' pricing. Ah, and about the menu.be super careful about all of the upcharges. The atmosphere is also interesting, although quite dark - we required a small flashlight to read the menu. Reservations required for dining room, walk-ins welcome at bar subject to dress code.Īs others have mentioned, the magic was super in both the dining room and the theater. For dress code details, visit /reservations. Complimentary tickets to magic performances in the showroom are included with purchase of a dinner entrée. Guests are encouraged to explore the dining room to enjoy the rare collections and be entertained by some of America’s top magicians who are stationed throughout the venue to provide mind boggling illusions and tricks all evening long. House of Cards celebrates the art of magic, classic American cuisine and fine hand-crafted cocktails under one roof. ft space, the venue offers an evening for guests unlike any other in the history of the South. Located underground in a one of a kind 10,000 sq.
